HR Variable Coma Corrector (2-inch) Without Camera Adapters

The HR Variable Coma Corrector, designed by Harrie Rutten for Explore Scientific, corrects the coma at the edge of the field in Newtonian reflectors, including fast ones down to f/3. This version is the corrector itself, which arrives assembled for visual use. The HR Variable Coma Corrector (2-inch) With T2 Adapters adds the two camera adapters for imaging.

Key Features

• Four-lens design correcting a 30mm field, for Newtonians as fast as f/3.
• Polychromatic Strehl of 0.98 at f/4 and 0.96 at f/3 (visual), per Explore Scientific.
• EMC-coated optics to reduce internal reflections.
• Helical focuser with a laser-etched scale in 1mm divisions, so each eyepiece's best position can be found once and set again later.
• 2-inch barrel.

Ideal For

• Visual observers with fast Newtonians, where stars toward the edge of the field stretch into small comets.
• Almost any Newtonian with a parabolic primary mirror, which Explore Scientific names as the corrector's range.

Accessories & Compatibility

• Camera adapters are not included. For imaging, the version with T2 adapters comes with the T2 (M42x0.75) and M48x0.75 adapters.
• A 2mm Allen key, not supplied, releases the small locking screw on the helical focuser.
