Athlon Optics Cronus G2 UHD 10×42 Binoculars

The Cronus G2 UHD 10x42 is a premium magnesium-chassis binocular with Athlon's E2ES field flattening system and UHD extra-low-dispersion glass, built for edge-to-edge sharpness and color accuracy.

Key Features

• E2ES edge-to-edge field flattening system eliminates peripheral distortion: the image stays sharp from center to edge, so you can scan terrain without constant refocusing. This matters most when tracking moving subjects or glassing wide valleys where the target isn't always centered
• UHD extra-low-dispersion glass with advanced fully multi-coated lenses delivers virtually zero chromatic fringing on high-contrast edges: birds against bright sky, antlers against snow, or stars against darkness. The UHD elements produce a bright, color-true image
• ESP dielectric coating on phase-corrected BAK-4 roof prisms reflects over 99% of light through the prism assembly, giving you vivid brightness and contrast that extends your usable glassing time into dawn and dusk
• Magnesium alloy chassis — lighter than aluminum at equivalent strength, with the rigidity to maintain optical alignment after years of hard field use. Argon purged and fully waterproof for rain, snow, river crossings, and temperature swings
• 19.3mm eye relief with twist-up eyecups and multiple stop positions, generous enough for comfortable all-day use with eyeglasses
• Locking diopter prevents your focus calibration from shifting when you hand the binoculars off or bump the adjustment: set it once and forget it
• 6.6-foot close focus handles butterflies, dragonflies, and wildflowers just as easily as distant ridgelines

Ideal For

Hunters who glass more than they hike: the E2ES system lets you scan ridges and valleys without the edge blur that causes you to miss movement at the periphery. At 27.8 ounces in a magnesium chassis, the Cronus G2 handles multi-day backcountry trips without adding unnecessary weight.

Birders and wildlife observers who demand sharp, true-color images for field identification: the UHD glass resolves fine plumage detail and the ESP dielectric coating keeps the image bright and contrasty from first light through last. The 338-foot field of view at 1,000 yards and 6.6-foot close focus cover everything from raptor kettles to warblers at arm's length.

Outdoor enthusiasts stepping up from mid-range glass who want better edge sharpness, color fidelity, and build quality.
