The Athlon Optics Cronus ATS Pro 50L-640 is the flagship of the Cronus thermal scope line, built around a 640 x 480 sensor with ≤20mK NETD — the highest-resolution, most thermally sensitive optic Athlon makes. Paired with a fast 50mm F1.0 germanium lens and integrated laser rangefinder with ballistic calculator, it delivers the widest field of view, the most detailed thermal picture, and the deepest zoom range in the ATS Pro series — purpose-built for hunters and tactical shooters who accept nothing less than the best glass on their rifle.

Key Features
- 640 x 480 Sensor with ≤20mK NETD – 60% more thermal pixels than the 400 x 300 sensors in the tier below, combined with industry-leading ≤20mK noise-equivalent temperature difference. The result is a dramatically cleaner, higher-definition thermal image with finer detail resolution — you’ll see subtle heat signatures that lower-resolution sensors merge into background noise. In marginal conditions like high humidity, light fog, or minimal temperature differentials, this sensor keeps producing usable images where others wash out.
- 50mm F1.0 Lens with 8.8° x 6.6° FOV – The larger 50mm objective gathers significantly more infrared energy than the 35mm lens on the ATS Pro 35L-400, feeding the sensor a brighter, more detailed thermal picture. The wider 8.8° x 6.6° field of view lets you scan more terrain per sweep — critical when tracking multiple targets or scanning large properties.
- 2.95x–23.6x Zoom Range – Start at 2.95x base magnification for wide-area scanning, then push to 23.6x combined magnification for positive ID at extreme distance. That’s nearly double the zoom ceiling of the 35mm model, giving you reach that few thermal scopes in any price class can match.
- Built-In Laser Rangefinder (10–1,600 yds, ±1 yd) – Instant distance measurements without lifting your head from the scope, feeding directly into the ballistic calculator for real-time holdover solutions.

- Ballistic Calculator with Auto Holdover – Input your load data once, and the integrated ballistic engine does the rest. Range your target, and the holdover point appears directly on the reticle — no dialing, no apps, no second scope.

- 1440p OLED Display at 50Hz – The 0.49” OLED with 1440 x 1080 resolution ensures the extra sensor detail actually reaches your eye. The 50Hz refresh rate keeps fast-moving targets smooth for confident shot timing.
- 10 Reticles + One-Shot Zero + 10 Zeroing Profiles – 5 MOA and 5 MIL reticle patterns in 6 colors. One-Shot Zero for fast sight-in. Save up to 10 profiles (A–J) for different rifles, loads, or distances.
- 7 Color Palettes – White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia.

- Auto-Shot Recording + 128GB Storage – Recoil-activated recording captures before and after every shot automatically. 128GB built-in — no cards to manage.
- 10+ Hour Battery + WiFi/Bluetooth/HDMI – Dual-power system (1 built-in + 2 external batteries), USB-C backup, eco and standby modes. Stream live to the Athlon Thermal app or output via Micro HDMI.

- IP67 Weatherproof, -22°F to 122°F – Fully sealed, fog-proof, shockproof. Handles high-caliber recoil and temperature extremes without hesitation.
Who It’s For
- Hunters who demand the absolute best thermal image quality. The 640 x 480 sensor and ≤20mK NETD deliver a thermal picture that’s visibly sharper and more detailed than 400 x 300 alternatives. If you’ve compared thermal scopes side by side and found yourself wanting more resolution, this is the answer.
- Long-range predator hunters working large properties where detection distance and positive ID at range are paramount. The 50mm lens, wide FOV, and 23.6x zoom let you scan efficiently and confirm targets at distances that push the limits of thermal technology.
- Professional guides and outfitters who need a flagship optic they can stake their reputation on — night after night, in any weather, with clients who expect results.
- Shooters upgrading from the ATS Pro 35L-400 who want the sensor and lens upgrade without relearning a new platform. Same controls, same interface, same zeroing system — just more capability in every dimension that matters.
