The Alpen Apex 640 LRF 50mm Thermal Scope combines 640x512 thermal imaging, a 1,000-meter laser rangefinder, and a smart ballistics calculator in a single 632-gram optic — giving hunters the ability to detect, range, and calculate a hold point without switching between devices. The ≤20mK NETD sensor detects heat signatures out to 2,600 meters, and the 1440x1080 OLED display renders them with enough resolution to identify targets across the full 1x to 8x digital zoom range.

Key Features
  • 640x512 thermal sensor with 12µm pixel pitch — ≤20mK NETD sensitivity detects heat signatures out to 2,600 meters. The 50mm objective lens provides an 8.7° field of view at base magnification, narrowing to 6.89° at higher zoom levels
  • Integrated laser rangefinder to 1,000 meters — Get instant distance measurements in single-shot or continuous mode (15-second intervals). On high-reflectivity targets, the LRF reaches up to 1,800 meters. Minimum ranging distance is 10 meters
  • Smart ballistics calculator — Input your ballistic profile, zero range, muzzle velocity, altitude, temperature, ballistic coefficient, and sight height. The calculator auto-computes the bullet's landing point and displays it on the reticle relative to your zeroed distance — turning the scope into a complete ranging and fire-control solution
  • 1440x1080 OLED display with six color palettes — High-resolution viewing with Black Hot, White Hot, Green, Iron Hot, Red Hot, and Sepia modes. Digital magnification from 1x to 8x via a single rotary dial
  • Five zeroing profiles with freeze-image zeroing — Store five separate zero configurations for different rifles, ammunition types, or distances. Freeze-image zeroing allows precise X/Y adjustments without the target moving in the display
  • Forest Mode, Hot Point tracking, and Picture-in-Picture — Forest Mode enhances high-temperature targets against warm backgrounds. Hot Point marks the highest temperature in the field of view in real time. PIP magnifies the reticle area in a corner overlay without narrowing your overall view
  • Built-in compass — A 3-axis calibrated compass provides heading reference directly in the display
  • Recoil-activated video recording with 32GB storage — An impact sensor detects recoil and automatically records video hands-free. The built-in microphone records audio (toggleable). Export footage via USB-C or review on the scope
  • Dual 18650 battery system — A built-in rechargeable battery plus an external 18650 compartment deliver up to 15 hours of combined runtime. Two 18650 batteries are included. Charge via USB-C
  • Wi-Fi streaming and companion app — Stream your thermal view live over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The companion app supports OTA firmware updates
  • Built for extreme conditions — Waterproof and shockproof with an operating range of -30°C to +55°C (-22°F to +131°F). At 632 grams, it mounts directly to Picatinny rails and is particularly suited to the AR platform

Who It's For

Predator and hog hunters who need detect-range-shoot capability in one optic. The integrated LRF eliminates the need for a separate rangefinder — detect a target at 2,600 meters, range it at 1,000 meters, and let the ballistics calculator compute your hold point, all without breaking position.

Long-range shooters who want an onboard ballistic solution. Input your load data once, and the scope calculates bullet drop for each ranged target. Five zeroing profiles let you switch between rifles or ammunition without recalibrating.

Hunters upgrading from non-LRF thermals who are tired of carrying a separate rangefinder or guessing distances in the dark. At 632 grams, the Apex LRF adds ranging and ballistics without the bulk.

Night hunters in extreme conditions — Operating from -30°C to +55°C with 15 hours of battery life, the Apex LRF is built for all-night hunts in late-season cold, humidity, and total darkness.
