The Explore Scientific 2" 2x Focal Extender doubles magnification while preserving the full illuminated field of your 2" wide-angle eyepieces. The larger 2" barrel passes the complete light cone from wide-field designs like the 82°, 100°, and 120° series eyepieces — no vignetting or field cutoff that can occur when routing 2" optics through a 1.25" Barlow.
Built around a telecentric 4-element optical design with EMD-enhanced multi-coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces, the 2" 2x delivers flatter fields and sharper edges than traditional Barlow lenses. The telecentric design keeps magnification consistent regardless of spacing in the optical path — essential for imaging setups with filter wheels, flip mirrors, or off-axis guiders. Edge-blackened elements and internal baffling maximize contrast on faint targets.
Threaded for 2" astronomy filters. A 1.25" eyepiece adapter is included, giving full compatibility with both barrel sizes.
