The Guide Nova N635S puts a 640 × 512, 12 µm sensor rated at 15 mK behind a 35 mm F0.9 lens in a compact scope that weighs 525 g and runs 228 mm long. Next to the Nova N435, it moves to the 640-class sensor from 400 × 300, to 15 mK from 20 mK and to F0.9 from F1.0, widens the field to 12.5° × 9.4° from 7.9° × 5.9°, and starts at 2.0x instead of 3.3x, while both carry Guide's 1,800 m (1,950 yd) detection rating. Against the TU635LS, which pairs the same sensor format with a 35 mm F0.9 lens, the N635S leaves out the in-lens rangefinder and the 2560 × 2560 display and weighs 525 g against 875 g.

Key Features
  • ApexVision S1 imaging. Guide builds the N635S on its ApexVision S1 architecture: the ApexCore S1 detector, the Nexus 1.0 platform and the Hyper-Light 2.0 algorithm. Guide says the Hyper-Light algorithm, the 12 µm detector and the lag-free AMOLED display let the series detect finer temperature differences and enhance contrast. The sensor refreshes at 50 Hz.
  • A wide field from a 35 mm lens. The 35 mm F0.9 objective covers 12.5° × 9.4°, or 22 × 17 m at 100 m, and magnification runs from 2.0x to 16x. Focus is manual, set with the focusing knob.
  • AMOLED eyepiece. The 0.39-inch 1024 × 768 AMOLED is viewed through an eyepiece with 48 mm of eye relief and a -5 to +5 diopter. Seven palettes are built in: White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot and Sepia.
  • Recording that starts on recoil. When it detects recoil, the Nova series records a 15-second video with sound and takes five photos, and Guide says it also supports continuous triggering and automatic playback. A short press of the Up key takes a photo and a long press starts a recording. Files are stored on 64 GB of internal memory, and the built-in microphone records sound with the video.
  • A built-in battery plus a replaceable 18500. A built-in battery works with an external 18500 cell for a rated 8 hours of operation. Guide says the series supports 20 W quick charging and hot swapping, and that a 10-minute quick charge provides up to an hour of continuous use. Two 18500 batteries and a battery charger are in the box.
  • Built for weather and recoil. The magnesium-alloy housing is rated IP67 and resistant to recoil up to 6,000 J, and the scope operates from -20 °C to 50 °C (-4 °F to 122 °F).
  • TargetIR apps. Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) connects the scope to the TargetIR app, which shows the live image and controls the device, and Guide uses the app for over-the-air firmware updates. The TargetIR Ballistics app calculates trajectories from a regularly updated database of common calibers and manufacturers.
  • Care functions. Guide builds in burn-in protection, defective pixel correction and a smart sleep mode to help keep the device in good condition in daily use.

Ideal For
  • Night hunters who want a 640 × 512 sensor in the scope Guide designed for hunters seeking performance and portability: 525 g and 228 mm long.
  • Owners of a 400 × 300 scope moving up, N435 owners included, who keep the same 0.39-inch 1024 × 768 display, 48 mm of eye relief and 1,800 m detection rating while gaining the 640 × 512 sensor and the wider field.
  • Hunters who film their hunts, with recoil-triggered video and sound recorded to 64 GB.

Accessories & Compatibility
  • Mount: a quick-release scope mount is included.
  • Rails for add-ons: Picatinny rail connectors on both sides of the housing take an external light or a rangefinder module. With Guide's optional rangefinder connected, a short press of the Down key takes a range measurement. Guide lists a 1,200 m laser rangefinder, a Bluetooth remote control and extra 18500 batteries as optional accessories; none of them is in the box.
  • Power and data: the USB-C port supplies power and charging and transfers photos and video to a computer.
