Ten-power reach usually means a binocular you have to plan around. The Tactical T1028 does not: Steiner packs a genuine 10x magnification into a 12.7-ounce compact that still folds into a cargo pocket, so you can pull detail off a distant ridgeline, vehicle, or treeline without carrying a full-size instrument to do it. It is the tool for the observer who wants more reach than an 8x24 gives at distance, in the same disappear-into-your-kit footprint.
The High-Definition Tactical optical system and its advanced coatings hold contrast and resolve fine detail at 10x, where a small objective at high power gets hard to keep sharp. NBR Long Life rubber armor and a nitrogen-sealed, waterproof housing mean it shrugs off impact, rain, and temperature swings, and the folding double-hinge body collapses small when you are done.
Steiner's Fast-Close-Focus wheel snaps from a six-foot close focus out to infinity with minimal rotation, so a fast-moving subject stays sharp, and the one-button ClicLoc mount attaches or drops the strap instantly.
Key Features
- 10x reach, 12.7 oz. Full ten-power magnification in a folding compact you can pocket.
- High-Definition Tactical optics. High-contrast clarity and fine detail that hold up at higher power.
- Fast-Close-Focus. A minimal-rotation center wheel pulls focus from 6 ft to infinity.
- Sealed and nitrogen-filled. Waterproof to 1 m and fogproof in heat and cold.
- ClicLoc strap mount. One-button attach and release.
Ideal For
- Observation and surveillance where reach matters more than a wide field and the glass has to stay pocketable.
- Hunters glassing open country who want 10x detail without full-size weight.
- Bright-light use: at 10x28 the 2.8 mm exit pupil is a daylight design, so for low light and a steadier image compare the T1042 10x42 or the auto-focus T750 7x50.
- A wider, easier-to-hold view: prefer 8x? The T824 8x24 is its lighter, wider-field sibling.
