Alpen Optics

Alpen Optics was founded in 1996 by industry veteran Tim Gardner and has earned multiple Outdoor Life “Great Buy” awards for delivering high‑performance glass at honest prices.

Now backed by Explore Scientific, the brand continues to serve hunters, birders and outdoor professionals with rugged, award‑winning optics: binoculars, riflescopes and spotting scopes, plus thermal imagers, a laser rangefinder and red-dot sights.

Why Choose Alpen?

• ED / HD Glass + BaK‑4 Prisms — ED glass on the Chisos, Apex XP and Teton lines and BaK‑4 prisms on most models (the Chisos 6.5x32 uses BK‑7); PXA phase and HR metallic coatings on the Apex and Apex XP maximise light transmission for vivid, edge‑to‑edge clarity.
• Fully Multi‑Coated, Waterproof & Fog‑Proof — dependable views from humid swamps to freezing ridgelines on most models (the Shasta Ridge Porro binoculars are multicoated and water-resistant, and the Apex Steady is rated IPX4).
• Image‑Stabilised Options — Apex Steady 14×42, 16x30 and 20x42 HD binoculars cancel hand‑shake for rock‑solid glassing without a tripod.
