Explore Scientific 0.8x Focal Reducer

The Explore Scientific 0.8x Focal Reducer converts compatible ES refractors into faster, wider-field astrographs for astrophotography. By reducing the effective focal length by 0.8x, it widens your field of view and speeds up your f/ratio — an 80mm f/6 becomes f/4.8, a 102mm f/7 becomes f/5.6. Shorter exposures, wider framing, and the same sharp optics your telescope was designed to deliver.

The 2-element design threads directly into a standard M42 T-ring (sold separately) for DSLR, mirrorless, and dedicated astronomy cameras. Back-focus distance is 55mm — the same standard used across all Explore Scientific correctors and reducers, so spacing setups are consistent and interchangeable.
