Six digital day and night units for observation: two G3 monoculars and four Quantum binoculars, $549.95 to $999.95. All of them show full color in daylight and switch to infrared imaging after dark, so one device covers both conditions instead of sitting in a drawer until sunset.

The monoculars are the lighter and cheaper way in. The G3 5-30x44 at $549.95 is the one to carry when weight matters. The 6-36x50 at $599.95 pulls in more light through the larger objective lens, which is what you want if most of your viewing happens after dusk.

The Quantum binoculars cost more, and they earn it over long sessions: viewing with both eyes cuts the eye strain that builds up across an hour at the eyepiece. Three of the four carry an integrated laser rangefinder, at 1,100 yards for $899.95 or 1,635 yards for $949.95 and $999.95, the longer reach being what you need to read distance across a valley rather than across a field. The Stargazer-QD at $749.95 leaves the rangefinder out, which is the sensible saving if you are observing rather than measuring.
