The PARD Ocelot 480 50mm is a thermal riflescope built to handle like a day scope: a round 800 × 800 display behind 100 mm of eye relief, a 480 × 360 sensor rated at ≤20 mK, and a 1,000 m laser rangefinder that feeds a built-in ballistic calculator. Its 50 mm lens gives 3x and a 5.0° field, and PARD rates detection at 2,600 m. One-shot zeroing lets you fire, move the reticle to the point of impact and save it, and the scope is rated to 6,000 J of recoil.
Key Features
- 480 × 360 at ≤20 mK. An uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) detector with 172,800 pixels at a 12 μm pitch and a 50 Hz frame rate. PARD processes the image with its IREA engine, an image enhancement algorithm that corrects distortion and raises contrast to bring out detail.
- 3x with 100 mm of eye relief. The 50 mm lens shows a 5.0° × 5.0° view on the round display. The 3x base magnification is optical; the 2x, 4x, 6x and 8x digital zoom steps enlarge the pixels at the center of the image, which makes the subject look bigger without adding detail. The diopter runs from -5 to +3. The Ocelot 480 35mm gives 2.1x and a wider 7.1° field, rated to detect at 1,800 m.
- Rangefinder and ballistic calculator. The laser rangefinder measures to 1,000 m and feeds a ballistic calculator that estimates the point of impact in real time.
- One-shot zeroing. Fire a shot, move the reticle to the point of impact and save it.
- Reticles and display modes. Six reticle styles in red, white, yellow or green, six image modes (WT-HOT, BK-HOT, EDGE, RD-HOT, IN-HOT and SKY), three scene modes, picture-in-picture and hot track.
- Record the shot. Recoil-activated and loop recording, with a microphone, save photos at 1536 × 1536 and video at 768 × 768 to a microSD card of up to 128 GB. Wi-Fi connects to the PardVision2 app, there is an HDMI output, and a gyroscope and an electronic compass are built in.
- Built for recoil and weather. An aluminum alloy housing sealed to IP67, rated to 6,000 J of recoil and -30 °C to +55 °C (-22 °F to +131 °F). One 21700 battery runs it for up to 5 hours, with external power over USB-C.
- Mount in the box. PARD packs a mount with fastening screws and shims.
Ideal For
- Predator hunters calling coyotes after dark, with the distance and an impact estimate on the same screen.
- Shooters who want a day-scope feel, with a round sight picture and 100 mm of eye relief.
- Hunters who film their hunts, since recording starts on the shot.
