Explore Scientific 6" f/5 Tabletop Dobsonian Telescope

Clear nights rarely give much warning, and Explore Scientific built its 6-inch Tabletop Dobsonian for those spontaneous sessions. The Dobsonian mount comes pre-assembled, so setting up means standing it on a sturdy surface and aiming, and the 152mm primary mirror gathers enough light for nebulae, galaxies and star clusters as well as the planets.

Key Features

• 6-inch (152mm) primary mirror at 760mm focal length, f/5. A fast focal ratio gives wide fields at low power.
• Pre-assembled tabletop Dobsonian mount with an accessory rack that keeps eyepieces at hand.
• Two Plössl eyepieces: the 25mm gives 30x and the 10mm gives 76x.
• 2-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with a 1.25-inch adapter for the common eyepiece size.
• Red dot finder for aiming, and a smartphone adapter for simple photos through the eyepiece.

Ideal For

• Beginners who want a 6-inch mirror without assembling a mount. Explore Scientific designed the Dobsonian mount to be simple for beginners to master.
• Observers short on storage space, since the tabletop design keeps the whole telescope compact.

Accessories & Compatibility

• More eyepieces: the 2-inch focuser takes 2-inch eyepieces directly, and 1.25-inch eyepieces through the supplied adapter.
• A tabletop mount needs a stable surface outdoors, such as a sturdy table, bench or low wall.
• For more aperture on a floor-standing base, see the Explore Scientific 8" f/5.9 Dobsonian Telescope.
