Explore Scientific 68° Series 2" 34mm Waterproof Eyepiece

The 68° Series 34mm combines a long focal length, 2" barrel, and 6-element optics for expansive deep-sky views with the edge-to-edge sharpness that serious observers demand. At this focal length, the 68° field frames large swaths of sky, for sweeping through star clouds, open clusters, and extended nebulae becomes a genuine pleasure. It has waterproof construction and multilayer deposition coatings.

Key Features

• 2" barrel for maximum field of view at long focal lengths
• 6-element optics — low-dispersion and high-refractive-index glasses deliver sharp, well-corrected images to the field edge
• 68° apparent field of view — wide, immersive framing ideal for large deep-sky targets and rich star fields
• Argon-purged waterproof housing — sealed against moisture, fog, and temperature changes for reliable all-season performance
• Multilayer deposition coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces with edge-blackened elements for contrast
• Fold-down silicone rubber eyecup with generous eye relief for comfortable extended viewing, including with eyeglasses

Ideal For

• Wide-field deep-sky observers who want to frame large nebulae, open clusters, and Milky Way star fields with sharp, well-corrected optics
• Dobsonian and large-aperture telescope owners where a 34mm provides comfortable low-power views with enough magnification to show structure in extended objects
• Milky Way scanning and rich star field sweeping where the combination of brightness and field width is at its best
