Alpen Apex XP 8x56 ED Binoculars

Dawn and dusk are when the action peaks, and when light runs shortest. The Alpen Apex XP 8x56 answers that with oversized 56mm objectives and a 7mm exit pupil that keeps views bright and usable deep into twilight, paired with ED glass and HR metallic-coated BaK-4 prisms for the contrast to match.

Key Features

• 56mm Objective Lenses — Gathers significantly more light than standard 42mm models, delivering noticeably brighter images in the dawn, dusk, and heavy-canopy conditions.
• ED Glass — Extra-low dispersion elements eliminate color fringing on high-contrast edges, keeping detail sharp and colors true when light levels drop.
• PXA Phase-Coated BaK-4 Roof Prisms — Phase correction maintains resolution edge-to-edge, while HR metallic coatings boost reflectivity for maximum brightness per photon.
• Fully Multi-Coated Optics — Every air-to-glass surface treated for reduced glare and maximum light transmission, critical when glassing across water, snow, or bright sky.
• Waterproof & Nitrogen-Filled — Waterproof to 1 m for 30 minutes (Alpen) and internally fog-proof through the rapid temperature swings between vehicles and cold field conditions.
• 17.5mm Eye Relief with Twist-Up Eyecups — Multiple lock positions for comfortable full-field viewing with or without glasses during extended observation sessions.
• 8x Magnification for Stability — Lower magnification than 10x means a steadier handheld image for scanning large areas without fatigue or shake.

Ideal For

• Hunters who glass at dawn and dusk and need optics that stay bright and usable in the last minutes of legal light, where 56mm objectives outperform 42mm by a visible margin.
• Astronomy enthusiasts looking for a wide-field binocular for sweeping the Milky Way, scanning open star clusters, and observing bright deep-sky objects: the 7mm exit pupil matches a dark-adapted pupil.
• Wildlife observers who work from blinds, vehicles, or fixed positions in low light and value brightness and contrast over portability.
• Birders who observe during dawn and dusk activity peaks and want color-accurate views when plumage ID depends on true color rendition in dim conditions.
• Glasses wearers who need generous eye relief without sacrificing field of view.
