A heavy-duty tripod with 2-inch stainless steel legs, adjustable height from 26.5 to 42.5 inches, and a die-cast aluminum spreader tray — the most stable tripod option for Explore Scientific's Twilight and iEXOS mount families, built to handle heavier equipment loads with minimal vibration.
The 2-inch stainless steel legs are significantly thicker than the 1.5-inch legs on the Medium Duty model, providing a stiffer structure that damps vibrations faster and resists flex under heavier payloads. This matters most for astrophotography, where even small vibrations during an exposure show up as elongated stars. The die-cast aluminum spreader tray locks against the inside of the legs with a threaded T-bar, triangulating the entire structure. The tray doubles as a convenient shelf for accessories, batteries, or a laptop.
The 42.5-inch maximum height puts the eyepiece at a comfortable standing position for most observers, while the wide footprint keeps the center of gravity low. Collapses to 31.5 inches for transport.
These are tripod legs only — no mount head included. Compatible with Twilight I, Twilight II, and iEXOS-100 mounts (iEXOS-100 requires the azimuth adjuster adapter, sold separately).
