The Athlon Optics Cronus ATS Pro 50-640 puts the highest-resolution sensor in the ATS Pro lineup — 640 x 480 with ≤20mK NETD — behind a fast 50mm F1.0 lens, delivering the widest field of view, the deepest zoom range, and the most detailed thermal picture available in the Cronus line, all without an integrated laser rangefinder. For hunters who already carry a standalone rangefinder or simply don't need one built into the scope, the 50-640 delivers the same flagship sensor and optics as the LRF-equipped 50L-640 at a lighter weight and lower price.

Key Features
- 640 x 480 Sensor with ≤20mK NETD – 60% more thermal pixels than the 400 x 300 sensors in the tier below, combined with industry-leading ≤20mK noise-equivalent temperature difference. The result is a dramatically cleaner, higher-definition thermal image with finer detail resolution — you'll see subtle heat signatures that lower-resolution sensors merge into background noise. In marginal conditions like high humidity, light fog, or minimal temperature differentials, this sensor keeps producing usable images where others wash out.
- 50mm F1.0 Lens with 8.8° x 6.6° FOV – The larger 50mm objective gathers significantly more infrared energy than a 35mm lens, feeding the sensor a brighter, more detailed thermal picture. The wider 8.8° x 6.6° field of view lets you scan more terrain per sweep — critical when tracking multiple targets or scanning large properties.
- 2.95x–23.6x Zoom Range – Start at 2.95x base magnification for wide-area scanning, then push to 23.6x combined magnification for positive ID at extreme distance. That's nearly double the zoom ceiling of the 35mm models, giving you reach that few thermal scopes in any price class can match.
- 1440p OLED Display at 50Hz – The 0.49" OLED with 1440 x 1080 resolution ensures the extra sensor detail actually reaches your eye. The 50Hz refresh rate keeps fast-moving targets smooth for confident shot timing.
- Ballistic Calculator with Auto Holdover – Input your load data once, and the integrated ballistic engine does the rest. Feed it distance from your standalone rangefinder or use the built-in stadiametric ranging system, and the holdover point appears directly on the reticle — no dialing, no apps, no second scope.

- Stadiametric Ranging – The built-in reticle-based ranging system lets you estimate target distance without any external device, providing a self-contained ranging solution when a dedicated rangefinder isn't available.
- 10 Reticles + One-Shot Zero + 10 Zeroing Profiles – 5 MOA and 5 MIL reticle patterns in 6 colors. One-Shot Zero for fast sight-in. Save up to 10 profiles (A–J) for different rifles, loads, or distances.
- 7 Color Palettes – White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia.

- Auto-Shot Recording + 128GB Storage – Recoil-activated recording captures before and after every shot automatically. 128GB built-in — no cards to manage.
- 10+ Hour Battery + WiFi/Bluetooth/HDMI – Dual-power system (1 built-in + 2 external batteries), USB-C backup, eco and standby modes. Stream live to the Athlon Thermal app or output via Micro HDMI.

- IP67 Weatherproof, -22°F to 122°F – Fully sealed, fog-proof, shockproof. Handles high-caliber recoil and temperature extremes without hesitation.
Who It's For
- Hunters who demand the best thermal image quality but already own a standalone rangefinder. The 640 x 480 sensor and ≤20mK NETD deliver a thermal picture that's visibly sharper and more detailed than 400 x 300 alternatives — and you don't pay for a second rangefinder built into the scope.
- Long-range predator hunters working large properties where detection distance, positive ID at range, and wide scanning FOV are paramount. The 50mm lens, 8.8° x 6.6° field of view, and 23.6x zoom let you cover ground efficiently and confirm targets at distances that push the limits of thermal technology.
- Shooters upgrading from a 400 x 300 sensor who want the resolution and sensitivity leap of the 640 x 480 platform without the added weight and cost of an integrated LRF.
- Hunters and tactical operators in extreme environments who need gear that won't fail. IP67 waterproofing, -22°F cold tolerance, and 10+ hours of battery life mean this scope keeps working when conditions push other optics past their limits.
