Athlon Optics Midas Burst Red Dot Sight

The Athlon Midas Burst pairs 50,000 hours of battery life and top-mounted controls that stay out of the way of your grip and holster. At 1.27 oz and 1.9 inches, it disappears on the slide while delivering a crisp 3 MOA dot through a fully multi-coated, open-emitter window.

The motion-activated sleep mode extends that battery life even further — after 5 minutes of inactivity, the Burst sleeps and automatically wakes when it detects movement, so the dot is live the instant you pick up the gun. Ten brightness settings cover everything from indoor ranges to full sun. Athlon built the chassis from aircraft-grade aluminum in a one-piece, nitrogen-purged design that's waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof.

Athlon builds the Midas Burst on what it calls a Delta Point style optic footprint, and states it mounts to select models of handguns designed for that footprint, or with the adapter plate supplied by the firearm manufacturer. Confirm your slide cut with your pistol maker before milling. Windage and elevation adjustments click at 1 MOA with the included screwdriver.

Key Features

• 50,000 hours battery life — over 5 years of constant-on runtime at medium brightness; set it and forget it
• Motion-activated sleep/wake — automatically sleeps after 5 minutes of inactivity and wakes instantly when movement is detected
• 3 MOA red dot — balances fast acquisition with enough precision for defensive accuracy at distance
• Top-mounted controls — brightness buttons on top of the chassis eliminate accidental adjustments during draw, holstering, or grip changes
• Open-emitter, fully multi-coated lens — maximizes light transmission
• 1.27 oz / 1.9" — ultralight and ultracompact; adds virtually no weight or bulk to the slide
• Aircraft-grade aluminum chassis — nitrogen purged, waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof

Ideal For

Concealed carry and duty pistol shooters who need an optic they can mount and trust — 50,000 hours means you change the battery once a year as a ritual, not because it died.

Competition pistol shooters running USPSA, IDPA, or Steel Challenge who want a reliable, lightweight dot that won't shift zero under sustained recoil or slow them down with accidental brightness changes.

Home defense handguns that live in a nightstand or safe — the motion-wake feature means the dot is always ready when you pick up the gun, without draining the battery sitting in storage.

Compatibility

Mounts via what Athlon calls a Delta Point style optic footprint, on select handgun models designed for it or with the adapter plate supplied by the firearm manufacturer. Center height of 0.57" provides a low profile that co-witnesses with most suppressor-height iron sights.
