An FFP illuminated scope with a precision zero stop and locking windage turret usually means spending north of $800. The Athlon Heras SPR 6-24×56 breaks that pattern — the APRS9 FFP IR MIL reticle with its 0.04 MIL floating center dot gives you accurate ranging and holdovers at any magnification, with an illuminated center that draws your eye to the aiming point in low light or against dark backgrounds.
Key Features
- APRS9 FFP IR MIL reticle — first focal plane design keeps subtensions accurate at every magnification, so your ranging and holdovers work whether you're dialed to 6x or 24x. The 0.04 MIL floating center dot provides a precise aiming point, and fine 0.2 MIL hash marks in all four directions let you quickly read wind corrections and elevation holds without dialing.
- Illuminated center — variable brightness settings with numbered positions and off detents between each. Powered by a CR2032 battery, the illuminated dot draws your eye to center in low-light hunting conditions or against dark timber where black crosshairs disappear.
- 0.1 MIL clicks with 10 MIL per revolution — tactile, audible turret adjustments that match your MIL-based reticle for fast, intuitive corrections. No math converting between MOA turrets and MIL reticle — what you read is what you dial.
- Precision zero stop on elevation — dial up for distance and return to your 100-yard zero with a hard mechanical stop. Removable turret knobs secured by a single top screw, with the zero stop plate locking via three side screws.
- Locking windage turret — pull up to dial, push down to lock. Prevents the accidental windage drift that can ruin a cold-bore shot after hiking to a glassing point.
- 6-24x magnification with 56mm objective — versatile enough for 200-yard whitetail stands at 6x and 1,000-yard steel at 24x. The large 56mm objective gathers light for clearer images in the first and last minutes of legal shooting light.
- Side focus parallax from 10 yards to infinity — the included flywheel attachment snaps onto the focus knob for faster adjustment. The 10-yard minimum makes this scope equally at home on precision rimfire and airgun platforms.
Ideal For
Hunters who want an FFP reticle that ranges accurately without remembering which magnification the subtensions are calibrated to — set up on a ridge, range your target, hold, and shoot.
PRS and tactical competitors who need a matched MIL/MIL system with zero stop reliability and the confidence that their reticle reads true at any power setting.
Precision rimfire and airgun shooters who benefit from the 10-yard minimum parallax and illuminated center dot for small targets in varied lighting.
