Not every MIL shooter needs the reticle to scale with magnification — and for hunters who dial their corrections rather than hold, an SFP reticle that stays the same size at every power is actually an advantage. The Athlon Heras SPR 6-24×56 SFP pairs the APRS8 illuminated reticle with its 0.07 MIL floating center dot and a clean, consistent sight picture from 6x to 24x, with a precision zero stop and locking windage at a price that leaves the FFP version's budget for rings and a good base.
Key Features
- APRS8 SFP IR MIL reticle — second focal plane design keeps the reticle the same size at every magnification, so the sight picture stays clean and uncluttered whether you're scanning at 6x or zeroed in at 24x. The illuminated 2 MIL span center with 0.07 MIL floating dot draws your eye to the aiming point, and 0.2 MIL hash marks in all four directions provide holdover reference. Subtensions are calibrated at 16x.
- Illuminated center — variable brightness settings with numbered positions and off detents between each. The CR2032-powered illuminated dot is sized for fast target acquisition against dark backgrounds and in low-light hunting conditions.
- 0.1 MIL clicks with 10 MIL per revolution — tactile, audible turret adjustments that match your MIL reticle. What you read is what you dial — no conversion between systems.
- Precision zero stop on elevation — dial up for distance and return to your zero with a hard mechanical stop. Removable turret knobs with single top screw and three-screw zero stop plate.
- Locking windage turret — pull up to dial, push down to lock. Prevents accidental windage drift between shots.
- 6-24x magnification with 56mm objective — versatile from close stands at 6x to long-range steel at 24x. The 56mm objective gathers light for clearer images at the edges of legal shooting light.
- Side focus parallax from 10 yards to infinity — the included flywheel attachment provides faster, more precise parallax adjustment. The 10-yard minimum covers rimfire, airgun, and centerfire applications.
Ideal For
Hunters who dial — if you zero at 200 and dial elevation for longer shots rather than holding over, the SFP reticle gives you a consistent sight picture at every magnification while the zero stop brings you back reliably.
Budget-conscious MIL shooters who want zero stop, locking windage, and 0.1 MIL clicks without the FFP price premium — this scope delivers the same turret system and build quality as the FFP variant for $40 less.
Precision rimfire and airgun shooters who benefit from the 10-yard minimum parallax and illuminated center dot for small targets in varied lighting.
