Hunters who think in inches at distance — not milliradians — shouldn't have to compromise on FFP accuracy to stay in MOA. The Athlon Heras SPR 6-24×56 pairs the APLR9 FFP IR MOA reticle with its 0.3 MOA floating center dot and 70 MOA of elevation travel, giving MOA shooters an FFP illuminated scope with zero stop and locking windage for under $650.
Key Features
- APLR9 FFP IR MOA reticle — first focal plane design keeps subtensions accurate at every magnification. The 0.3 MOA floating center dot provides a precise aiming point with minimal target obstruction, and 1 MOA hash marks with 5 MOA drop lines down to 25 MOA let you hold for elevation without dialing. At 6x the reticle works as a clean center cross; at 24x the full subtension detail is available for precision work.
- Illuminated center — variable brightness with numbered settings and off detents between each. The CR2032-powered illuminated dot pulls your eye to center against dark timber or in the last minutes of legal light when black crosshairs disappear.
- 0.25 MOA clicks with 25 MOA per revolution — the familiar quarter-MOA system that maps directly to inches at distance. Four clicks per inch at 100 yards — intuitive corrections without conversion charts. 70 MOA of total elevation travel handles everything from 200-yard whitetail zeros to 1,000-yard steel.
- Precision zero stop on elevation — dial up for distance and return to your 100-yard zero with a hard mechanical stop. Removable turret knobs secured by a single top screw, with the zero stop plate locking via three side screws.
- Locking windage turret — pull up to dial, push down to lock. Prevents the accidental windage drift that can ruin a cold-bore shot after hiking to a glassing point.
- 6-24x magnification with 56mm objective — versatile from 200-yard stands at 6x to 1,000-yard steel at 24x. The large 56mm objective gathers light for clearer images in the first and last minutes of shooting light.
- Side focus parallax from 10 yards to infinity — the included flywheel attachment snaps onto the focus knob for faster adjustment. The 10-yard minimum makes this scope equally at home on precision rimfire and airgun platforms.
Ideal For
MOA-system hunters who want FFP reticle accuracy without switching to MIL — range your target, hold or dial in the same unit system you already know, and shoot.
Long-range shooters who need 70 MOA of elevation travel and a zero stop for repeatable return to zero between stages or shot strings.
Precision rimfire and airgun shooters who benefit from the 10-yard minimum parallax and illuminated center dot for small targets in varied lighting.
