A 4-24x hunting scope with the APLR H2 holdover reticle, 50mm objective, and one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube — the higher-magnification, larger-objective option in the Ares HLR line with a full MOA holdover system built into the reticle. The 50mm objective pulls in more light than a 42mm, keeping the image bright into the last minutes of legal shooting light when big game is most active.
The APLR H2 reticle puts a full MOA holdover system in the field of view — hash marks numbered at 10 MOA intervals extend to 30+ MOA below center for elevation holds, with 10 MOA of wind reference marks on each side. The illuminated center cross keeps the aiming point visible in low light, while the clean upper crosshair and fine hash marks stay out of the way at lower magnification. For hunters who prefer to hold rather than dial, the APLR H2 puts the correction data where you can use it without lifting off the turrets.
Key Features
- APLR H2 Illuminated Reticle (SFP, MOA) — Full holdover reticle with numbered MOA hash marks for elevation and wind corrections directly in the field of view. The illuminated center cross stands out in low light without washing out the fine hash marks. Second focal plane keeps the reticle size consistent across the zoom range.
- 50mm Objective on a 30mm Tube — The larger objective gathers more light than a 42mm, delivering a brighter image in low-light conditions when it matters most. The 30mm tube balances light transmission against mounting height and ring compatibility.
- 4-24x Magnification Range — 4x is wide enough for 100-yard shots through timber, while 24x gives you the magnification to resolve targets and read wind at 600+ yards. The 6x zoom ratio keeps the optical design simple and the image sharp across the range.
- Fully Multi-Coated Optics — Enhanced light transmission with accurate color reproduction across the full magnification range.
- Argon Purged — Premium gas purging provides superior fog-proof performance compared to nitrogen, maintaining a clear image through rapid temperature swings common in mountain and early-morning hunting.
- Side-Focus Parallax (10 yds to Infinity) — Eliminates parallax error at any distance without breaking cheek weld. The 10-yard minimum adds versatility for close-range varmint work.
Ideal For
- Long-range hunters who want holdover data built into the reticle and more light-gathering than a 42mm scope — the APLR H2 gives you the MOA references to hold and shoot at distance, and the 50mm objective keeps the image bright at dawn and dusk.
- Whitetail hunters on stands and blinds where shots range from 50 to 400+ yards — the illuminated center cross handles close encounters while the holdover hash marks and 24x top end let you place shots precisely at distance.
- Varmint and predator hunters who want the 10-yard parallax minimum for close work, plus enough magnification and holdover reference to engage small targets at 400-600 yards across open ground.
