Athlon Optics Midas TAC GEN2 HD 4-16×44 APRS14 FFP MIL

Law enforcement marksmen and tactical shooters working inside 800 yards need a compact FFP scope with enough elevation travel and HD clarity for positive target identification — without the weight and bulk of a 50mm or 56mm objective. The Athlon Midas TAC GEN2 HD 4-16x44 delivers 30 MIL of elevation travel, a precision zero stop, and HD glass in a 23.8-ounce, 44mm-objective package that keeps the rifle fast to shoulder and maneuver.

Key Features

• HD low-dispersion glass with advanced fully multi-coated lenses and XPL protective coating delivers bright, color-true images with reduced chromatic aberration
• 30 MIL total elevation adjustment in a 30mm tube with 10 MIL per revolution — enough to dial confidently past 1,000 yards on most centerfire cartridges without a canted rail
• 15 MIL total windage adjustment with a capped turret that prevents accidental bumps in the field while still providing ample correction range
• Precision zero stop returns to your exact zero with a hard, repeatable stop
• 0.1 MIL clicks on the exposed elevation turret are tactile and audible
• First focal plane APRS14 MIL reticle — etched glass, non-illuminated, with 0.2 MIL hash marks to 10 MIL vertically and 6 MIL horizontally (0.1 MIL marks beyond) and a fine floating center dot. Subtensions stay accurate at every magnification
• 4-16x magnification range covers everything from moderate-range work at 4x to precise target identification and wind reading at 16x — a versatile envelope for precision shooting, varmint hunting, and competition
• Side-focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards to infinity — the 10-yard close focus makes this scope equally capable on airguns and rimfire at short range
• 30mm one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube, argon-purged and sealed — waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof

Ideal For

NRL22, NRL Hunter, and entry-level PRS competitors — 30 MIL of elevation travel, a zero stop, and crisp 0.1 MIL clicks give you the core mechanical features that precision rifle competition demands. At 23.8 oz and $660, this is the scope that lets you compete seriously without overspending on glass while you develop your fundamentals.

Precision rifle shooters on a budget who want FFP, HD glass, and a zero stop without crossing $700 — the Midas TAC GEN2 HD delivers the core feature set of the Athlon Ares BTR GEN3 at a lower price point. The main trade-offs are no illumination and a capped windage turret, which many shooters actually prefer for field use.

Airgun and rimfire precision shooters — the 10-yard minimum parallax focus lets this precision FFP scope work properly at close range.

Varmint and predator hunters who want a lightweight, precise scope for calling and long-range varmint work — 23.8 oz keeps your rifle handy, the 4x low end gives you enough field of view for close shots, and the zero stop and MIL turrets let you dial confidently for longer opportunities.
