Athlon Optics Ares BTR GEN3 HD 2.5-15×50 APRS13 FFP IR MIL

Tactical shooters who also hunt need a scope that transitions from barricade drills to backcountry pack-outs without swapping optics. The Athlon Ares BTR GEN3 HD 2.5-15x50 solves both with a 2.5-15x FFP design, precision zero stop, and HD glass in a 27.3-ounce package.

Key Features

• HD low-dispersion glass with advanced fully multi-coated lenses and XPL protective coating delivers bright, color-true images with reduced chromatic aberration
• 29 MIL total elevation and windage adjustment in a 30mm tube, enough travel to dial confidently to 1,000+ yards without a canted rail, with 10 MIL per revolution for predictable tracking
• Precision zero stop returns to your exact zero with a hard, repeatable stop: no counting clicks back from an arbitrary reference point
• 0.1 MIL clicks are loud, distinct, and free of slop or lash: the Gen3 turret redesign is a larger stainless steel design, shared with the Midas TAC and Ares ETR lines, with sharper, more tactile clicks
• First focal plane APRS13 MIL reticle with illuminated center: the tree-style reticle features hash marks at consistent MIL increments with a fine floating center dot that provides a precise aiming point without obscuring the target
• 2.5x low end with 41.8 ft field of view at 100 yards — wide enough for close-range hunting or dynamic shooting
• Side-focus parallax adjustment from 10 yards to infinity accommodates everything from rimfire at close range to centerfire at extreme distance
• 30mm one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tube, argon-purged and sealed: waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof
• Gen3 upgrades include redesigned stainless steel turrets, included throw lever, threaded sunshade, and threaded metal lens caps with magnetic closures

Ideal For

Crossover hunters who dial at distance — the 2.5-15x range covers everything from 30-yard timber shots to 800+ yard cross-canyon dialups. At 27.3 oz with 29 MIL of elevation travel, you get genuine long-range capability. The zero stop ensures you're always back to your confirmed zero between shots.

Precision rifle shooters on a budget — 29 MIL of elevation in a 30mm tube with FFP, zero stop, Gen3 turrets and an included throw lever.

MIL-system shooters who want the BTR GEN3 platform in their preferred adjustment language. The 0.1 MIL clicks and MIL-based APRS13 reticle let you spot, correct, and re-engage in one unified system: no MOA-to-MIL conversions between the reticle and the turrets.

NRL Hunter and practical competition shooters — the combination of light weight, wide magnification range, generous adjustment travel, and zero stop is purpose-built for field-position precision where you're moving between stages and shooting from natural positions at unknown distances.
