Explore Scientific Dobsonian Shroud for 10" and 12" Truss Tube DOB Telescope

An open truss lets stray light reach the mirrors of a Dobsonian. This lightweight shroud for Explore Scientific 10-inch and 12-inch truss tube Dobsonians keeps the light path between the secondary and primary mirror dark, which Explore Scientific says boosts image contrast and brings out more detail.

Key Features

• Opaque black nylon. Keeps stray and unwanted light out of the telescope, with excellent stretch.
• Elastic band at each end. Holds the shroud in place and makes it easy to fit and install.
• Breathable. The nylon lets air circulate yet keeps dust away from the optics, and Explore Scientific says it avoids unnecessary pressure from the breeze.

Ideal For

• Suburban observers with stray light around their site; Explore Scientific calls the shroud a must-have where stray light interferes.
• Owners of an Explore Scientific 10-inch or 12-inch truss tube Dobsonian who want dust kept off the optics while the telescope is set up.

Accessories & Compatibility

Fits Explore Scientific 10-inch and 12-inch truss tube Dobsonians. For the 16-inch, Explore Scientific makes a separate shroud.
