Explore Scientific 8x50 Straight Through Illuminated Viewfinder with Bracket and Illuminator II

A finder that keeps the sky the right way round: the Explore Scientific 8x50's roof prism gives a right-side-up, left-to-right correct image across a 6° field, and its illuminated reticle has an open center, so the object you are centering is not hidden behind crosshairs.

Key Features

• Correct-image roof prism. A precision polished roof prism makes images right-side-up and left-to-right correct.
• Open-center reticle with scale markings at 1.5°, 3° and 4.5°, with the edge of the field at 6°, so the reticle also gives the size of the field in degrees.
• Continuously variable deep red illumination from the Illuminator II, which runs on two AAA batteries (not included). Explore Scientific says they last at least 100 times longer than in its traditional illuminator.
• Focus for the objective and the reticle. Both the main objective and the eyepiece's illuminated reticle focus.
• 55° eyepiece with 16mm eye relief, and all optics EMD coated.

Ideal For

• Star-hoppers working from a chart, who want the view in the finder the right way round.
• Deep-sky observers finding faint galaxies, comets and nebulae, which the open center leaves in view.
• Owners of an Explore Scientific finder base: it fits the Hybrid Finder Scope base and the original standard and T-shaped bases.

Accessories & Compatibility

Explore Scientific lists it for the Hybrid Finder Scope base and its original finder bases, the standard base and the T-shaped base.
