The Explore Scientific 0.8x Focal Reducer shortens the focal length of its 80mm and 102mm ED and FCD100 refractors by 0.8x, for a wider field and a faster focal ratio in astrophotography: the 80mm f/6 goes from 480mm to 384mm at f/4.8, and the 102mm f/7 from 714mm to 571mm at f/5.6.
Key Features
- 2-element design. Reduces the focal length by 0.8x.
- Faster focal ratio. More light falls on the camera sensor in the same exposure.
- T-ring thread. Threaded to accept a standard 42mm T-ring for your camera (sold separately).
- 55mm back spacing, plus or minus 2mm.
- 2-inch barrel, threaded for 2-inch filters.
